- rye bread
- Thousand Island dressing
- corned beef
- sauerkraut, drained
- Swiss cheese
Line up all the slices of bread on a sheet of wax paper and butter one side with soft butter (it's messy, but we like to butter before we make the sandwich).
Flip the slices over and on half of the unbuttered sides, layer slices of corn beef, swiss cheese and top with sauerkraut.
On the unbuttered side of the remaining bread slices, spread Thousand Island Dressing.
Toast on a griddle or grill, turning to brown evenly and until warm all the way through.
Slice in half and enjoy!
